Leica 75mm Summilux Serial Numbers

I had a 75 'lux for a couple years. Bought it to see if 75mm might be a good standard long format for the 35mm. In my opinion, 75mm is too long and depth-of-field issues arise, at least, for a standard lens. I doubt Erwin Puts could even spot a difference between a Canadian and a German 75 'lux, on film. Mine was Canadian and real sharp, especially when stopped down a bit. The first 75s had detachable lens hoods, but they went to the slide-out hood early on.

I would have liked a 75mm Elmarit. It would be about the size of the 50mm 'cron. The 75 'lux is very big and heavy, and made my kit seem like a return to medium format. Defeats the purpose of a Leica-M. With hood extended, it knipped a portion of the viewfinder, but I never missed a shot due to this.
