My son was trying the 'play along' method listening to his iPod - what a mess. The moment this software came we got it running and insisted that he try the first lesson. Finally - recognizable drumming!!! I keep catching him going back to his 'play along' method and take away the sticks and insist that for the next few days/weeks/months (how ever long it takes him) he can only do the lessons and learn properly. I'm going to be a slower learner, but I've already improved and can play some simple patterns and keep my hands and feet doing somewhat independent tasks! This software is fantastic, easy to setup and easy to follow.

Comments about Roland V-Drums Tutor: I bought this to take a chance that it might work with any midi drum system that had assignable midi capability, and it ended up working perfectly out of the box with the Yamaha DD-65 that I just purchased. I did not even have to re-assign the midi. This product will allow me to learn the drums without spending a whole lot on private lessons, and learn on a relatively inexpensive system (DD-65).
